My coworkers' lunch

Lots of people in my office are on Weight Watchers. Of my team of six, three are on Weight Watchers. They're all really supportive of each other, and talk about it a lot of the time. I'm feeling like I should join too. I do want to loose weight before the wedding and, mostly, I want to be part of the group. I want people be interested in my lunch too.

  1. What? You don't need Weight Watchers. If you want your lunch to be interesting, bring Indian food, or something else strong enough for everyone to smell!

  2. So this actually most likly comes from working in an office with a lot of women in it. Are any of the people in your group men? men never ask each other what they are eating for lunch. I work with a group that is mostly women and we talk about weight about 60% of the time. if you aren't trying to loose weight you should feel guilty about your food. If you are trying to loose weight people will tell you "What, You? You don't need to loose a pound!" There is no winning. Plus I'm pretty sure weight watcher meals are filled with sodium. If you want high blood pressure then start to eat the microwave meals. Until then, stick with your PB and J.

  3. I disagree with Maria a little. One of the guys (Peter)I work with has been on a special diet and exercises every morning for 8 minutes, and he and another guy seem to have weekly conversations about the food Peter brings. --He's eating salads, veggies and brown rice a lot-- and his exercise routine.
I can't exercise 8 minutes in the AM, but he and I are sharing some Newman's dressing for our salads.
Now...if I could just stop craving chocolate.

  4. I'm going to say my psych perspective - as I run groups about body image. As long as the talk is positive, about how to love yourselves as you are and just getting healthier, then you do what you want to do - join in or cheer them on. If there is a lot of negative talk about bodies and bad types of food - think twice before joining in, it may make you think of yourself as having a problem you don't have! You are a confident and strong person, so as long as you don't compromise that to fit in! Ok. I'm done.
On another note, weight watchers is my mom's favorite thing to talk about too.
